Matt Frewer continues to work steadily, currently appearing as a recurring guest star on NBC’s
The Hunting Party as Dr. Dulles. Stay tuned for his work as a supporting lead in the soon to be
released feature film The Casket Girls, opposite Gabrielle Union.
Recently, he recurred on HBO's Perry Mason and AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. He portrayed
Carnage in Netflix's sci-fi drama Altered Carbon, recurred in NBC's Timeless, and starred opposite
Dennis Quaid, in Crackle's The Art of More. He also recurred as Dr. Leekie in BBC America's
award-winning Orphan Black and in Steven Soderbergh's gritty early-20th century hospital drama
The Knick.
Frewer's film credits include Steven Spielberg's The BFG, 20th Century Fox's Night at the
Museum: Secret of the Tomb, 50/50 (with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Foreverland,
Frankie & Alice (with Halle Berry), and as Moloch in Zack Snyder's Watchmen. He appeared in
Snyder's 2004 film, Dawn of the Dead. He filmed Attack on Darfur in South Africa and played the
lead in the action/adventure film Wushu Warrior, which was filmed in China. Other work on the big
screen includes playing "Big Russ Thompson" in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and Jobe Smith, the
nefarious computer genius in Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace. Frewer starred in four
Sherlock Holmes films for Muse Entertainment, CTV and the Odyssey Channel. Frewer also
recently starred as “Mister Cody” in the short The Summer Machine, a film based on a short story by
George R.R. Martin with Martin himself producing the film.
He performed leading roles in numerous television movies and miniseries, including Nick Willing's
Alice (as the White Knight; for which he was nominated for a Gemini Award). He reunited with Nick
Willing to play Daedalus in 13 episodes of Olympus. Frewer starred in the television miniseries
Delete for Brightlight Pictures, A&E's miniseries Bag of Bones with Pierce Brosnan, and in
Spielberg's Taken. He played the arsonist known as the "Trashcan Man" in the Stephen King-
scripted ABC miniseries, The Stand.
Additional television work from Cable Ace and Gemini award-winning Frewer include DreamWorks’
Falling Skies, Eureka (Sci-Fi), Intelligence (CBC), and Doctor, Doctor (CBS). He made guest
appearances on such prime time network television series as St. Elsewhere, Miami Vice, and Star
Trek: The Next Generation. Other notable turns on television include portraying such real-life
notable individuals as U.S. Ambassador Edwin O. Reischauer in American Playhouse's Long
Shadows (PBS), Alexander Haig in Kissinger and Nixon (TNT), and Gene Kranz in the made-for-
television movie Apollo 11.
In addition to his long list of fine comedy and dramatic roles, Frewer will always be remembered
for his groundbreaking work, and his creation of pop-culture icon Max Headroom.
